Our Mission
The Sarasota Fern Society is a non-profit organization dedicated
to learning and exchanging information relating to the propagation,
growth, culture, and identification of ferns and fern allies.
Regular Meetings
New members and guests are always welcome. Meetings are held January
thru November, on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, at 7:30 PM, in the
Activities Building of the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, 811 South
Palm Avenue, Sarasota, Florida. [map]
Membership
Any one with an interest in Ferns and Fern Allies is invited to
become a member of the Society. Plants ownership and prior growing
experience are not required.
Annual Dues
Membership dues are collected on a calendar year basis. When joining
in mid-year, new members may prorate their first year’s payment
according to these annual rates:
- One person: $12.00.
- Two or more persons, sharing the same address: $15.00.
- Students: Free.

“Special Programs” throughout the year and the topics listed
below are usually the focus of at least one meeting per year.
In addition, our meetings always feature a Show And Tell session, which
can be very interesting and educational too.

| * The "Holiday Social Event" is an
informal luncheon, usually held on a Saturday afternoon at the
home of one of the Society's members. |
** Field Trips, held once or twice
a year, are scheduled independently from, and in addition
to, the regular monthly meetings.
** Our Annual Show and Sale is also held in
addition to our regular monthly meetings and its date
varies from year to year, usually falling between July and
November. |
